Following the announcement of their stirring second full-length album, A Widening Burst of Forever, set to debut July 8 via queer, independent label Get Better Records, today Bay Area's Try The Pie teases the forthcoming LP with track "3 Swords."

"3 Swords," the second single from A Widening Burst of Forever, explores a stage of grief following betrayal; the moment when repair is excruciatingly needed but feels impossible to generate. "3 Swords" is the dissonant anger that is channeled into a scorned love letter, a prayer, and a warning. “Here are some words spoken through air,” Tupou writes, “to drive demons away.” Akin to when the immune system kicks into gear after infection, "3 Swords" is the story of learned defense mechanisms that we take on in order to survive harm.

"I wrote '3 Swords' as a reminder to examine and put to rest the more destructive parts of ourselves," says Try The Pie lead singerBean Tupou(they/them). "It speaks to moments when we may want to invoke pain, humiliation, or vengeance on those we feel wronged by and how that can end up corroding our own sense of self in the process."
